snorkel anyone

Went back country skiing nears mores creek on saturday and it was epic nice stable snow and huge powder. A couple of runs almost required a snorkel as I breathed in a lot of snow.

We had a good crew of 6 guys, one snowboarder and one telemarker with the rest on AT gear myself included.

The pictures don't do it justice. Here is our snow pit and our last run.

no nasty layers our whole pit broke after two good jumps, conditions were constant all day as the temp stayed low. And consistent across the slope, although we kept it below 33 degrees as we saw a small slide on about a 40 degree slope in a steep gully.
Same story here, lots of new snow with the only weakness we could find being the occasional wind slab. Amazing conditions for this time of year, or any time for that matter. And more snow on the way.

That's enough motivation for me

That just looks like TOO MUCH FUN
I am going to have to break down and rent gear again
I've taken a few lessons - at Kirkwood, Big Bear, and went up a few times
I will have to learn from scratch since it's been a "few years"
WAY TO GET SOME CHRIS!
Pilots or Sunset?

thanks for the word on the snowpack, had a friend up there a couple days ago and said the snow looked really good too and stable.

who's the tele'er with the Volkl's. Mantra's or Explosiv's?

the lone tele rider was brian ellsworth...brave soul for sure I like my at setup.
ah Chris, the snow always seems deeper on tele gear than AT gear
Naw. Chris is afeared on feeling like he's going faster that he really is on a singlespeed and he's probably afeared of feeling like the the snow is deeper than it really is on tele boards. JK
