Hey all, I'm coming up there from GA to do the SMT100 race. I have seen the elevation profile and downloaded the map. I hear it's about 60% fire road, and 40% trails. What are the trails like? And, what type of conditions should I be prepared for? This will be my first ever 100. Thanks in advance!

Biggest thing is to be ready for the climbing. There's alot of it. You should ideally be comfortable doing multiple 1000-2000 foot vertical climbs. Basically it's fire road climbs to singletrack descents. The descents are generally pretty long, rocky, and tiring, but not technically difficult or steep if you're comfortable with that kind of stuff.
