There really isn't an appropriate forum for this question but since all wheels use them I figured I would ask here.

Is there any place known where I could get a short quick release? Say about 3 inches long? Obviously it is not for use on my bike rather a different home project that I think it would work well for. If not I suppose I will just buy standard ones and cut them down and rethread them.

Thanks if anyone knows if this exists.

They are called "cam bolts". Check your Yellow Pages for fastners, woodworking supplies, Grainger, etc.

Searched for cam bolts there and got diddly...but did see camtainer bolts while looking, something I always wanted to know the name of....so, thanks!

yeah I have searched all over the net for cam bolts and haven't been able to find anything that resembles a QR.

I did find a lot of cam shaft bolts however!
