Sly Park - Pollock pines Benchmark to calibrate your GPS

I stumbled on this easy to access benchmark at the spillway at sly park.
It can be used to calibrate your GPS.

I don't think GPSs have needed calibration in 10 years.

Garmin units have had an elevation calbration feature/option
in the units I have owned (oregon, edge 305, edge 500), but they will run without it.

Do you just turn on the Garmin in this location and it will do it itself, or, is there something special you need to do to get it to calibrate?
