Any input on which way to go?

Double looks about 100 g heavier, but has the bash guard and steel 22 and aluminum 36 chain rings.

Triple is lighter, has the steel inner, composite middle ring and aluminum outer in the traditional 22-32-44.

For a Knolly Endorphin built up fairly light for mostly technical XC and trail riding.

TIA for sharing your experience/insight.

I have the doubles and I love it. It's great for trail riding, good clearance too. Shimano bash guard is pretty strong. I usually climb in the middle ring 32t, it's noticeably harder with 36t:) but you get used to it.

I have the triple and certainly wouldn't go to a double for mountain biking. Kind of depends on what you want.

double has steel pedal inserts which is a huge plus. better, stronger set up imho. you can always ad a big ring in place of the bash if you want.
