I recently installed the PNW Coast externally dropper post, and whenever I push down on the lever, the dropper extends at a normal rate but slows down toward the end of its travel. It doesn’t bother me, but should I be worried about this and is there a way to fix this by any chance. It's worth noting that when I installed the dropper into my seat tube (with park tool assembly compound), it was a tight fit even though it was the right diameter. I even got scratches all over the lower from how tight it was. Is it possible the fit of the frame can be causing the dropper to slow down towards the end of its travel?

You can test that by backing out the seat clamp bolt and checking if the seatpost still gets slow. If its still slow, check if air pressure is adjustable, if so it is probably low on psi. It also helps to lube the bushing under the collar at the top of the lower post assembly. But if it is a new post, less than a few months old you shouldn’t be having these problems. I would contact PNW their customer service is excellent. They warrantied 2 ranier posts for me and the second time upgraded me to a loam post. That one has developed some vertical play after about 4 months so I haven’t had great luck with them but i seem to be in the minority on that.

All those things were already done. I tried the dropper with the seat clamp open and it had the same motion. I currently have 200 PSI in my dropper as well. I contacted PNW and they said pretty much the same things you did. They then told me to head to a bike shop and ask them about it. The customer service was pretty good. They even offered to hook me up with service to check it out.

This article from bikepacking claims the range is 200-300 psi so i would go up to the max (or close to it) and test if that makes a difference. I keep psi in upper 200s on my 1up, tranz x, and pnw and it works well. If that doesn’t work send it back to PNW.
