Man is the Ventana forum ever slow today. Are all of you guys out of town? Have to visit Turner forum to find any new posts. Went riding today for a couple of hours. New photo of bike, although DS28 stickers are now gone!

Well in the spirit of slow days, here was mine in the Front Range.

One for the "there's no rocks in Colorado" files.

Snow on the way.

It's like watching paint dry

I was thinking the same thing. I was out yesterday for a 3-4 hour ride and out again today for 3+ hours.

Friday was supposed to be a high of only 32 deg F. I got psych'd up and dressed up in my cold weather gear and went to Rocky Ridge Park. At the 2 mile mark, I was sweating to death and actually took my jacket off and just wore a light weight jersey. I had my Bellwether pants on (aka furnace pants), so I was screwed wearing them because I didn't want to ride in just summer shorts. I had a good ride anyway and I was comfy the rest of the ride. Very few people were out riding - I guess they were all shopping.

Today I got the clothing right and headed out to Michaux State Forest. I was shocked to find snow all over the place. Most of the ridges had 1/2 inch snow in patches and one ridge almost had a complete light covering in snow. I was the first one on all the ridges and it was pretty awesome going through the virgin snow. Between the snow, standing water, and deep leaves, the trails were pretty fun.

Tomorrow is supposed to be really nice. I'll probably take the roadie out for a nice 3 hour ride or so. Killer weekend for riding.

Sorry, no pics. :(

Mine currently weighs 29.2 lbs. The wheels are 545 Gm. Sycros DS28s. The fork is a Pushed Vanilla RLC. I could have gone lighter in those areas, but I love the feel of the Vanilla, especially since it has been to Push Ind.. I like the BB height on the X-5. I would worry about the subsequent height once it has 6 inch rockers and a 6 inch fork. I would compare that height to the Turner Pack BB height. I'm pretty sure a Pack could be built to around 32 pounds with a DHX air, Pike Dual Air and the right set of wheels not too heavy). I just looke at the Pack BB height and it is 14.25 inches. I guess the X-6 would be around 14.4 inches in a medium size frame. Really not as much difference as I thought. schotter is running 6 inch rockers and a Zoke fork, Foshizzle also used to run similar parts. Ask them how they compare the X-6 to a Pack.

Several members here who usually ride Turner or Ventana have not liked the ride on a Nomad as much. Look ak some of Tscheezy's reports of Interbike.

Icegeek, sorry I missed you guys when you came up this way, I was really hoping to make it out for a ride that day. Saw the pics on Passion, looks like you had a good time. I'll add a couple recent Ventana pics of my own. Myself from last week (yes, we had short sleeve weather in late November, I love this place), and one of Brandon on his X-5.

Per the O-ring...doesn't look like you are getting full travel out of your shock...any thoughts?

Don't think any of the bumps on that trail would have used full travel. I'm probaly not running enough sag either. I think I measured about 1.75" maximum so far used.
