Good day, I m new on this forum. I m from South Africa. I m looking in to buying titanium gravel bike and I would like to support local business. I came on to this guys
www.slingcycles.com
I never heard about them before. It seams that they are quite good airplane manufacturer, but not a lot info about the bicycle. Anyone heard about them? Thx
Welcome.
It seems okay via specs. Head angle is more towards MTB than some are towards road. They say it's more upright but stack (important to me) is not as high some bikes known for that (Vaya, Fargo, Routt 45). We could be very different in what we want for characteristics or need for fit so get that figured out, keep spreadsheets and use the Bike Insights and Geometry Geeks sites to help choose.
Test bikes. Delaying gratification can be hard but you'll know what you want in the long run. Think hard about your use. I've got my 3rd gravel/tour/adventure bike and in all that learned as much as I'm a MTB rider at the core I wanted a faster and more road like bike, and a heavy duty tourer more than what I rode (and loved) sort of in between. It really took some time to figure out what I was after or at least what was worth and not worth a big round of spending.
The price listed in USD seems low but I didn't read where it is made. Selling direct can aid a lower price but what a traditional bike shop makes representing a brand can be well worth it. I don't know enough about materials and labor in your country to make judgements on what you're really getting. I do know I never saw any stories of horror or dissatisfaction with some top old brands like some of the inexpensive bikes you can get from China but you pay for that.
