I just sold my 04 spec Enduro, and somehow in shipping the front skewer nut got lost. The guy took it to a lbs for a new one and they quoted him $50 for a new skewer. I'm trying to help the guy out and not look like an ass for selling an unridable bike but $50 when all you need is a nut is outrageous.

I looked online for nuts but no luck (there's a joke there somewhere). The bike has an 06 fox vanilla fork which I think uses a 9 mm qr. Any help finding a nut? Are skewer nuts universal?

Is it one of the 9mm through axle Specialized hubs? That would make sense as the DT 9mm skewer is about that much. A Yakima 9mm car rack skewer nut should work on that.
