Been working on a project bike and thought I would share it. Running 1x10 w/11-36 XX cassette and 30t Extralite chainring. Bike is at 27.0 lbs as it sits.

The fork is an SBC/RS Reba S29 with carbon crown/steerer from the epic 29er, converted to 120mm travel, the wheels are stock Roval Control 29ers with oversized 28mm endcaps that are drilled out for a DT RWS. The shock normally gets swapped back and forth between the triad and the brain.

nice customization.
But using the carbon crown with a longer travel (longuer lever) is pushing it a little...
You could use 20mm trough axle in the front, it really stiffen things up.

To bad this frame is not available with a 12mm axle in the back

cool! sweet drivetrain, how do you like the 1x10 SRAM setup? good range? am thinking going the same route but with 34x11-36 with the noir crank. looks like the 30t is about the smallest you can put on there.

nice ride....looks fun. i have been thinking of doing the same thing but can't decide between a epic 29 or stumpy fsr 29.

Yup, its works just fine.

Is that a Flat or Riser bar on there? I am trying to decide whether to go flat or riser with my build.

I recognize that bike! Of course it was usually ahead of me and moving too fast to see clearly, so I could be mistaken.
