Is it much more complicated than estimating the size bike i need based on my height and weight? I suspect it is but can u give me an estimate of the size fs 29er i will likely need at 6' 3" and 205 lbs? If it matters, my torso vs legs are prettymproporionate tho arms are long

xl sounds right....the rest may just be tweaking stem and bars and saddle for your preference. Best to go off ETT though as some companies have all kinds of ways to do sizing that don't match up. I am 6' with 33" inseam on a 620 TT if that helps.

I am in similar situation 6'3", 36" inseam, 185lbs. The most comprehensive online calculator I found was this one, which gives you estimated top tube, standover, and other measurements that you can then compare to a bike's gometry chart etc:

Bike Fit Calculator | Find Your Bike Size | Competitive Cyclist

I don't have the option to go to a bike shop, so this was useful for me...
