This is a bit of a newb question but, what is the difference for shifting and leverage between long, medium, and short derailleur cages? I have a long sram x9 but I find it gets hit allot. Im wondering if I would benefit from a medium cage? I like to ride all mountain / light freeride, with tons of pedaling and some short steep climbs. I run a single 36 t up front with 9 speed casette at the back. I searched the forums but did not find an answer.
