Background:
I replaced the chain and cassette on my aged 3x9 bike. The inner ring appears to be worn-in to the old stretched-out chain, and was jumping teeth badly with the new chain.
Details: 5-arm cranks, middle ring is 94mm 32t Race Face
Since I have to pull the crank off to replace the middle ring, and I was thinking of losing the granny ring anyway, can I use a singlespeed inner ring and the current normal ramped/pinned outer which has virtually no wear?
The reason I'm asking is that I already have a spare SS ring (Salsa 32t 94mm, IIRC 9-speed compatible) that will fit.
Thanks in advance- JMJ
