I have a question about the whole 4 bar linkage suspension vs a Horst link sus vs a single pivot. Now I may be beating a dead horse here as this is probably a discussion done over and over.

Anyway, I know what a single pivot is. I know what a horst/FSR system is. But what would a "4 bar" linkage like a Giant AC or the 2004 Dakar XLT's be considered? if you look at the main pivot next to the bottom bracket, it is connected to the rear axle with a single bar, like a single pivot design. The rest seams like a bunch of parts to activate the shock.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, in terms of relative rear wheel motion, is the Non-horst/FSR type 4 bar linkages the same as a single pivot design?
