Silver City - Weekend of 12/16 - 12/18

Can't recall if any of the mtbr.com NM folks are from SC - guess not. My advice is to go see the folks at Gila Hike and Bike, 103 East College Road - right in town, and they can help ya out with rides and possibly gear. I'd highly recommend bringing your own bike though!

Check out the Signal Peak area - about 20 minutes north of town, and the site of an annual ass-kickin race race called the Signal Peak Challenge. Each year the shop goes all-out with a theme (In Search of the Holy Trail, Buddhas of the Gila, Gilabillies...) for the race and it's a blast.

To note: Weather-wise, you may be pretty limited to rides at the lowest elevations, if any - as they do get good snow in the Gila!
