SID XC Hydra air and '04 Skareb Super - same issue

I just got a used SID XC hydra air, I guess its an '00 or '01 model. I bought it for my hardtail all-arounder. It makes this funny slurping squirting noise every time it is compressed. Funny thing is, the same thing happens to my '04 Skareb w/ SPV. This strange slurping noise of oila nd air rushing through small holes. Is it that the oil and air are mixed? if so, How do I go about fixing it??....oh, and the same friggin noise comes from my Fox AVA R when I compress it, but not nearly as bad as the forks. My noleen is rockin' tho.

Yes, I tried the search function but didn't turn up much on the hydra air, whatever that means.

~bump~

I tried to find info on older forks on RS (sram's) website but didn't get anywhere

edit: I skipped over the 1999-2004 pdf file in my haste to find anythign other than '06 manuals. I'll overhaul the fork and post my sucess later

I really wouldn't worry about it too much, it's just the oil moving through the valve(s). Do you have the rebound set quite slow? How old is the oil? Contaminates and dirt "gum up" the shock/fork causing the fluid to resist moving through the system as easily- causing a louder "slurping' noise. Get your shock and forks serviced once a year you will notice a BIG difference in performance and noise!

I swear I did a post on this Q a few months back?

This might save you some work:
lube the seals and bushings(4x)
2ml redrum (or 20wt) on top of pistons
100cc 15wt bottom of right leg
10cc of redrum (or 20wt) bottom left leg
*Before you remove the lowers remember to turn the rebound adj all the way in so you don't wreck it during re-assembly
