Hi,
didn´t find anything with the search engine.
Is there a Tallboy picture thread yet?
Are there even Tallboys out there?

I´d be very interested to see you bikes!

YEAH,
that´s what I was looking for.

NICE bike, great build. Love those Straitline levers.

btw. your truck really dwarves the 29" wheels :D

Let´s hope there are MOAAAAR Tallboys out there!

Well,
that couldn´t work out better.

I ride a Heckler too, with a 160mm adjustable travel fork. Great trailbike. But I am intrigued by the 29" wheels.
I feel the need for a second bike, something even snappier and lighter than the Heckler. For the reaaaaallly long epic rides.

How does your Tallboy compare to your Heckler? Does it feel a lot different?

Take this with a grain of salt.........

I have been riding 29ers since 2004, so obviously I like the way they ride.

Since I got the Tallboy, I have not ridden the Heckler(XL, Float 36, DHX Coil...33 lbs.)

The Tallboy replaced my Ventana El Padrino hardtail 29er.

My Heckler obviously has a taller front end so it doesn't climb the steeps nearly as well as the Tallboy. Top tubes are within .5" of each other so the fit of the 2 bikes is really close.

THe Heckler is smoother through the rough stuff, but that has more to do with amount of travel. I don't feel that I am giving up any speed on the Tallboy. With the 120mm fork, the Tallboy has a nice slack feel to it......but not slow in the steering.

The Tallboy definately changes direction well....it is light and stiff so you can throw it around.

The Heckler may not get as much use as it used to....the Tallboy has so far handled everything that I have thrown at it. For AM/FR type rides, the Heckler is the way to go, but for just about everything else the Tallboy is hard to beat.

I am in North Mississippi. Our trails have been saturated for a few months. My wife is from
Greenville, SC and I miss it. Pisgah is a great place to ride. As for the tires, the Stout is not a racing tire by no means, but it is a good training tire.

The orange looks even better in person. Only problem is it has way too many gears.

If you don't mind me asking...

what's your saddle height, center of bb along the seat tube to top of the saddle?

Trying to figure out what size I need by that measurement and the eff top tube...

Thanks

Wish I could help you with that.....I am currently broken, so the bike is living at the LBS for display/demo.

However, you can kinda to the math if you have Thomson post. The length of the post is 350mm. I have about 1.5" extra before the limit line inside the frame.
