I have been riding on the marlin 7 for about 5 months and feel that I need to upgrade it, do you guys think I should upgrade (air fork, tubeless wheels) or go and buy the new siskiu d7 2020 that upgrades those things and more. I ride intermediate to hard cross country trails in Oklahoma.

Hmmm, I normally would say don’t go in low on a FS but that 2020 D7 is a nice FS package at that price, the 2019 is not so much. Yea if what you want is a decent short travel FS XC bike, the D7 is a great start.

Edit:Sorry, didn’t answer the question. Should you upgrade the Marlin? Like you said, your Marlin upgrades would be at least what you get with the D7 so I recommend upgrading to the 2020 D7.

As I'm sure your aware, these bikes are quite different.
I would only upgrade the Marlin if you really love the bike.

If your looking for an excuse to purchase a FS bike, go ahead...you have our permission :)

Before you pull the trigger on the D7, take a look at the Marin Hawk Hill.
A buddy has one, and loves it.

I wouldn't upgrade the Marlin. I'd spend a lot more on a better light hardtail like a Chameleon. Cause I like to be under 25lbs. for my short steep up and down terrain.
