Hi all ibisians

So over the last week I had to send my Cane Creek Shox in for repairs.

Not to be without a ride I had a old Float RP3 with Corset lying around. 200x55mm

So I decided to put this on the bike to keep riding (makes the back end about about 144mm ) and I lowered the front from 160mm to 150mm
(Might put a offset bushing on the Shox)

Took off my 2.5WT Maxxis for some lighter 2.6NN tires .

And this bike rode amazingly well... so poppy and playful.. the bike just wanted to jump and pop over everything.. I enjoyed it so much that I'm thinking that maybe I should just keep it like this. More burly than a Mojo3 and not as heavy and ploughing as a HD4.

I was really impressed how versatile this HD3 frame is.

Anyone else try this?

I have been using my HD3 with a Pike dual 150/130 from day two, but I use even smaller tires. Right now Nobby Nic 2.35 front and Rocket Ron 2.25 rear. The bike is a rocket in that configuration. Feels as fast as my (now sold) Norco Revolver :) Shock is the original Float DPS 3 pos.

Any clearance issues with the additional travel?

Any reason you dropped the fork down too? Sorry if it's obvious... long day at work.

I'm really interested in this, I've been on the fence about buying a mojo 3 or a used hd3 frame. This may be the answer.

No additional travel.

HD3 comes with 150mm rear travel with a 200x57mm Shox.
I have put on a 200x55mm Shox which reduces the travel to about 144mm

I suppose I could have left the fork at 160 and had a steeper head angle... but felt like making it more trail than enduro with the 150mm and was a closer match to the rear travel. (not that matters nowadays) will put the 160mm shaft in and see how it feels.

Could also be the lighter tires I put on that made it feel so lively ... went out for a night ride last night.. and still loving this setup that I'm looking to see if I can find a second hand Fox Evol to be my permanent non enduro day setup.
