lowtop 5.10s + any good BMX-like flattie with good pins

i run cheapy Diamondback BMX pedals on all my bikes for DJ, DH, FR, trail
that way they all have the same feel nomatter what i'm riding

specialized lo pro mag 2 and a pair of etnies. That combo works well for me.

Wellgo MG 1 and Helly Hansen Jaeger (black). The pedals are cheap, light, and durable. The shoes have some stellar traction and wear protection.

Shimano XC shoes with M545 pedals. Really itching to try Crank Bros Acids

For the occasional ride with flats, I go with skate shoes from the clearance rack and cheap Specialized flats

alot of pedals are good; 5.10's completely rule the grippy shoe department, but there arepkenty of decent options - lots of skate and BMX shoes.

But whatever you do, stay the HELL away from 661 Dually's. I had the 04 version which was good but fell apart, got the 06 'Taki' and I can honestly say it gets less traction than ANY shoe I have tried on any of my pedals including XC running shoes and my Rockports (vibram sole sticks way better).
