Hi guys. I have a hightower with fox 36 grip2 fork and fox dps performance shock. What should be a good shock upgrade? I mainly ride all mountain trails. Sometimes enduro trails

Which model/year Hightower?
If it's the latest model, then you'll do well with Rock Shox Super Deluxe/Super Deluxe Ultimate.
If it's the prior/first gen Hightower, I liked Fox's X2 on that frame.
Look in to frame/model specific shock tunes vs just buying something that fits the eye to eye and stroke.
It's latest frame. Didn't know about mara suspension. Will take a look after.
Fox dpx2 is not a good upgrade over dps performance?

No, the dpx2 is not a good shock either.

Are coil shoxs compatible with hightower V2? Not sure if the fits
The RSSDU is a great shock for the bike, but I also do like the DPX2. I commented in more detail on it somewhere else, but to me it would come down to how you want the bike to feel and ride, and also what type of riding you tend do. Quick summary of my thoughts: RSSDU (with MegNeg) is much more coil like and planted. DPX2 is livelier and makes the HTv2 a more playful trail bike.
Thanks for reply.what is megneg? Also I tend to ride playful, i do not like going high speed over obstacles. Used to play with the track. I ride more on natural all mountain tracks.

It's a bigger air can for that shock. I found it to make a noticeable difference, though the RSSDU is perfectly fine in it's stock form. IMO Megneg pushes the shock even further toward that planted end of the spectrum, so really contrasts well with the DPX2. Again, just depends on what you're looking for.

It was, at one time. For Fox I think you should be looking at the Float X (which I have not ridden).

I would just do Mara Pro, if you can get one.

Have a Float X Performance Elite on my son's new Transition Sentinel AL. Not sure if it is the default tune Transition chose (questioning as it came with a .7 volume spacer which gave a wall of progression, dropped to a .1 and still not getting full travel), but it is a bit dead feeling and doesn't eat up chatter very well. It may be over dampened with the chosen tune. The Mara Pro on my Banshee Prime feels much more active and plusher at the same time (of course comparing two different bikes, so a huge variable). I am between waiting for Vorsprung or Avalanche to offer tunes for the Float X, or just order a DVO Topaz and be done (I would personally choose a Mara Pro, but my son prefers DVO, they have sponsored him in the past, and teenagers don't want to ride the same stuff as their old dads).
