Saturday led us to a trip to the...
...Shindagin Shindig for another great ride!

A nice travel through the back country roads of northern Pennsylvania to the New York border then through historic Owego, N.Y. and off into the country setting of the Shindagin State Forest area, with trails very familiar to me from years back and racing the Speedsville Enduro with my Moto in the nearby Newark Valley area...

...but today it was Mt. Biking that took center stage and what a stage the Cycle-Cny crew set up for everyone to enjoy. Early arrival helped as we beat most of the rain with a great ride led by Brenda who showed us super trails with lots of fun stuff to ride on the sides and throughout the trail system. Thanks Brenda! "Excellent Ride" Also there were others on our ride who kept track of everyone and paced smaller groups and offered to show optional trails with different levels of tech. Many thanks to all of your who never let the rain deter the fun. There were other rides out on the trails also.

Trails are flowy with mixed terrain, where once familiar you can see all the hard work that went into keeping momentum with turns and pumps. Half way through we ran into a Pine forest area that was really cool, open airy and yet designed with trails in the pine trees with their sappy roots that kept you on your game! This was only a sample of the trails, and I'm sure the rest of Shindagin has to offer is also magic!

After the ride, back at the parking lot that was set up like a mini town with the Stans No Tubes Home Page and BIKE - SCOTT Sports demo trucks and crews leading the way. A barbecue was provided where you could cook up your own food.

Frank McGuire from www.imba.com/ spotted me and we traded new and old stories once again, he was a very popular guy with an "easy up" canopy when the skies opened up... LOL Thanks Frank!

Thanks to the CNY Cycle crew for all you do, as your hard work shows. We enjoyed the trails and Shindig, and even with the weather you kept a stiff upper lip and shared the fun. We will be back again with a lager group of our friends for another day of fun riding.

A pictorial view of the trip where...
...it was difficult to get pics with the rain
