Hi all,

First time posting here!

I have a 2014 Scott Scale 950 mtb, which i bought with Shimano BL505 on. I recently messed up the front Brake Lever and ended up ordering Shimano BL425, not the BL505 it came with since i didn't find them at first. I was wondering if that replacement would actually work on my front hydraulic disc, even though they're are not the same model.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah it's fine Victor. The BL M505 and BL M425's are paired up with almost exactly the same calipers when new anyway. I'd buy new BH59 olive and insert hose fittings for a couple of £/$ and replace the current ones (Shimano's recommendation) before you fit the new lever to ensure you don't get any leaks.

Or you can just refit the new lever onto hose as it is and keep checking them over a week or so and if connection doesn't leak then it will be fine.
