So I came across a set of brakes for sale from an online forum, the seller is advertising "shimano XT trail brakes" claims to be 2013. I asked for pictures and the one picture I receieved does not show the front side of the lever, just the front of the caliper and it says Deore XT.

I've been trying to find these "XT Trail" brakes and nothing comes up only XTR Trail brakes but all those brakes say XTR on em. When I brought this up to the seller he said "theres xt trail and xtr trail models. same design just xtr is more bling factor".

This true? I just cant find XT trail brakes anywhere, unless the 2013 model dont say XTR on em

XT's are m785's a or b. And that just relates to ispec mounting ONLY!

I'm not sure that I would run away. Just because the seller is stating in description they are "trail" could be just an error on his part. They could still be legitimate Shimano XT's. Skepticism should be the buyers modus operandi anytime we consider an online purchase of any type.

Yea, pretty sure he's got it wrong but I just want to make sure before I confront him again about it.

Honestly if there XT's I'm still interested. Might even be able to get em for a good deal, knowing he's got it wrong

Don't know what these are priced at, but I have seen XT's at major retailers for $115 - $125 each (excluding rotors).

There's XT Mountain levers & XT Trekking levers.

There's a hydraulic road caliper, it's basically a XT mountain caliper but it's grey and has a 'Road' Model No.

Merlin and BlueSky both have them at ~$90 regularly
