Hi all,

I have a Mark 1 Scalpel and need to replace the front Shimano XT Disc Brake Dual Control (front break).

The existing two units are:

and

My question is, will a new lever be compatable with the old caliper? The Shimano web site states:

"An increase in pad clearance at the calliper has enabled Shimano to use their proven Servo Wave technology in this hydraulic brake lever.". And I'm wondering if I'll need a new caliper also?

The unit I'm considering is (which can only be purchaced as two levers only):

Farnham Cycles | Shimano Deore XT ST-M775 XT Dual Control levers for disc brakes | Online Shop

Or I could get (which is sold as 1 lever + caliper):

Shimano XT Disc Brakes Dual Control M775 | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com

Thanks for any advice!!
