These are suppose dto be real close in weight to xt and have a steel granny.
I run 1x9 so it wouldnt matter
Wasn't sure since you are in the 29er forum and asking a drivetrain question. You aren't the only one, but I singled you out. How you like me now? This board has chapters for a reason. Use them.vizsladog said:off???
I like you Ed. That IS you in your avatar picture, right?BIGfatED said:... How you like me now?...
No, it's not really like that at all.23mjm said:Well since most people don't use them without chainrings and a BB, most people just don't care what they weigh without all that!!!. It is a weird question. Kinda like asking "how much does the steerer tube weigh on my fork".
613 gramsvizsladog said:Anyone weigh a set without the bb and rings??

I also saw that claim about the SLX being a 100% stronger than XT but I think that refers to the SLX 665 two ring cranks with bash guard. They also for instance have steel inserts for the pedals to thread into.vizsladog said:so if slx is only 10-20 grams heavier than xt it'd be a tough choice seeing how shimano claims slx is 100% stronger than xt...
Yep. The only difference in weight between the XT and the SLX is the granny ring. The SLX is steel while the XT is aluminum. I personally like the look of the SLX better then the XT,and I bought mine for $140.00.vizsladog said:thx
