installed on or off of your 29er?
My granny is so tough it's as if she's made of steel. I swear she could kick Chuck Norris's ass one handed while making pumpkin scones.

What was the question again?

Wasn't sure since you are in the 29er forum and asking a drivetrain question. You aren't the only one, but I singled you out. How you like me now? This board has chapters for a reason. Use them.
I did azzhat.

I posted in drivetrain no responce.....shimano no responce.

Like you now?? typical douchebag......

I like you Ed. That IS you in your avatar picture, right?
nope....and dont have the cranks yet either.....
Well since most people don't use them without chainrings and a BB, most people just don't care what they weigh without all that!!!. It is a weird question. Kinda like asking "how much does the steerer tube weigh on my fork".
I just installed a 170 mm set on my sons bike and weighted both arms and the bb at the bike shop. According to their scale the aggregate weight of all the parts was 880-890 grams.

No, it's not really like that at all.
. I ride a 1x9....

The xtr cranks without bb/rings are only 60grams lighter than xt.

so if slx is only 10-20 grams heavier than xt it'd be a tough choice seeing how shimano claims slx is 100% stronger than xt...

xt 175

I also saw that claim about the SLX being a 100% stronger than XT but I think that refers to the SLX 665 two ring cranks with bash guard. They also for instance have steel inserts for the pedals to thread into.

Yep. The only difference in weight between the XT and the SLX is the granny ring. The SLX is steel while the XT is aluminum. I personally like the look of the SLX better then the XT,and I bought mine for $140.00.
