Shimano sl-m310 vrs sl-m410

I have the sl-m310 on my mountain bike and looking at upgrading. I have 3x8 so saw the sl-m410 is this a better option looks like the 410 is alivio. I have seen even a 3x9 could be used. Have the m-410 rear derailer....
