I have always used Shimano pedals, and they usually serve me well. My FS has a set of Shimano flat Saints. Now I'm buying a second bike, and the options at my LBS are the Shimano PD-GR500 (a cheaper version of the old Saint) and the CB Stamp 3, large. Both cost the same price, and I'm not too worried as I'll be using a gift card, so I won't bother looking anywhere else.
I'm big and heavy (270#, 6'4"), and my second bike is a hardtail. Having that said, I assume I'll be hammering the pedals more than I usually do on my FS.
Shimanos:
- Never let me down before;
- Parts interchangeable with the other bike
- More expensive than other stores, at $79
Stamp 3:
- larger, for a big guy
- Rebuild kits are cheaper
- Cheaper/same price than other stores, at $79
Based on that, what would you recommend up to pickup date, next Tuesday?
