Has anyone ever got the Rapid Travel Adjustment to reliably work on their Shermans?. Mine( sherman 03) worked sporadically at best and now doesnt work at all. I need the travel adjust because my frame climbs poorly at max fork hight.

Any setup tips or maintenance suggestions would be appreciated

the RTWD system was not made for hard hits, if you take a hard hit while its engaged you will blow it out, and it will no longer work.

that might be you problem, might not.
Don't confuse Rapid Travel II with RTWD (Rapid Travel Wind Down). The 2-position, "wing" system is RTA/Rapid Travel. RTWD has the twist knob and covers a whole range of travel. It's less finicky and also changes the spring rate so that bottom-out force varies (it doesn't just compress the spring the way RTII does.

I think there's a good chance that XSL_Will is right and the knob may just be a little out of whack. Removing the knob, winding the hex fully clockwise, and then compressing the fork to see if it "grabs" in the lower travel setting will determine if the knob just needed to be "reset."

mine is broken, there is a little hoop made out of a paperclip sized wire, no joke, that gets turned by the spring assembly when you turn the knob. Mine was broken last time I serviced the fork. May be what happened to yours.
