whats that supposed to mean? rennie has broken more of everything then anybody else. Everything he touches explodes and dies in some horrible way. I can't imagine palmer will be any worse, and cool for santa cruz if palmer goes out and wins for them.

SP on a Sc would be cool to see. I just read a aritical on pink bike or NSMB about his custom painted Mountain cycle? V10 would be a better choice:)

Couldn't agree more. Palmer rode hard, end of story. But I find it hard to believe he'll shine against the likes of Hill, Atherton, Minnaar... every year the bar gets raised.

I'd love it if I was wrong - maybe he's been shredding with the best for the last 5 years. It'll be good to have him back.

word is he's planning on racing a few world cups next year but is not part of the syndicate program.
he does appear to be 'training' however...

Fark yeh! We need strong characters like the Palm, it'll be great for mountainbiking and hopefully it'll generate more interest in our sport.
Rock on Palmer!

I dont mean treating bikes like crap by breaking the bike.

If you check back to something known as Cactus Cup, and what happen during the naked criterium. I certainly dont wish to see that on a SC bike.

Palmer returning to meaningful dh/fr/slalom racing is like Lance returning to meaningful TdF racing...big deal for marketing, little for anything else until proven. BFD.

Palmer's a clyde. What do you really expect from racing equipment? He's a proven athlete that rode several waves of 15minutes and dovetailed several sports together very well. I've ridden his snowboards almost exclusively for 8 years and he's got that stuff down right.
Ever see him do the Pike's Peak in a Caddy? Hilarious.

You know what, I REALLY need to clear this up once and for all since people keep commenting about it.

IF you pee all over your Team issued Specialized bike during the Naked Criterium at Cactus Cup Stage race, in front of all media, that is disrespectful to your bike.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with riding a bike hard and breaking it, but actions such as the one above or throwing a bike on the ground after a crash (other pro rider) is not cool.

I certainly do not wish to see the exact same bike I ride be treated like that by a pro.

But with all that said, may be times changed, and he is more respectful. I get this from seeing his interview a while back during the Olympic trial.

Jesus man...lighten up a bit. It is just a bike. His bike...and he was likely half in the bag. He is a party animal...or was. Man...

Some truth here.

This is probably the real motivation here. Just look at the various comments posted here on the issue already. It generates interest no matter how SP actually does while racing, and unless SP ends up being caught in some child porn ring or other such grossly distasteful behavior, the interest and buzz surrounding the guy will probably be generally good exposure for SC. That analogy to Lance Armstrong is a good one. If Lance and SP don't absolutely embarass themselves in the racing results, then it's still good exposure. If they win or at least do quite well, then it's icing on the PR and marketing cake. There's probably more benefit to be gained than negativity to be risked for SC with this move.

I like you, Loll, so I know that you won't misinterpret my comments in blue

we're here for you man, $60/hr. on the couch...

I Agree. It's also against the law in most places. It's disrespectful on several layers. I'm not impressed with golden showers. Maybe he lost a bet?

Shirley you can accept that Palmer and others w/extreme personality (c-cough!-mediawhore-cough) need to periodically "shake the snow globe" when their personal "snowflakes" have almost completely landed.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with riding a bike hard and breaking it, but actions such as the one above or throwing a bike on the ground after a crash (other pro rider) is not cool.
I can vicariously appreciate frustration and the residual satisfaction from destroying a free sled. I get the sense that each person expresses themselves differently and you are a calm soul. Are you also against rockstars who trash guitars?

I certainly do not wish to see the exact same bike I ride be treated like that by a pro.
I don't get this. Exact same?

Duck when the relapse occurs...
