You need to post that on www.aussiefrogs.com (if you haven't already).

Beut car (I drive an mi16).
Yes, Tim Cusack from AF bought it. A few AFers on here.

Mi16's are good cars, my rally 205 has an Mi16 in it, hopefully soon it'll be all fixed up and ready to fire in anger again...only been 18 months.

And Al, looking at an ASRc at some stage...I need some squish for my back for long rides. Probably sell the 575, it's too All-mountain for me really, I'm not into jumps and big techy stuff but love my XC.

He got a good deal... meanwhile my 405mi was reversed into by someone last night, just to add to my mood after it was flooded a week ago. Love the mi16s though - particularly my 205mi. Truth be told, that engine suits the 205 better than the 405.

Those ASRCs are lovely things too. I spent a while drooling over one at Ausbike and imagine they must be fantastic to ride. Surely a week on it in Timor would be easier on the rear end too?

I didn't want to like my duallie when i started using it, but i'm being won over. And it is just a cheap and old giant - the Yeti must be on another planet.

Oh good stuff. John(c) I knew about (his avatar kind of gives it away), but not you guys. I haven't been to AF for a little while. I find when I'm active on mtbr I tend not to go to AF much and vice versa.

That's a bummer (flood, dent).

I haven't driven a 205mi. Must be awesome. Mind you, one of the (many) reasons I wouldn't sell my 405 (a '95 s2 which has only done 105k and is basically pristine) is the inevitability that someone would rip the engine out and stick it in a 205!

Back on bikes then, I don't mean to dis Yetis (and haven't ridden a 575) but recently I was buying a new bike and had convinced myself that an ASR5 was exactly what I needed. Took out a demo 2011 5 and also a 2011 Trance with the intention of convincing myself that the extra $3k for the Yeti was well worth it. Rode the same loop on both bikes.

Hopped on the Giant and loved it, thinking thoughts like yours above (wow this is great but can't wait to try the Yeti etc) but was then disappointed by the 5. It just didn't have the stability at the rear that the Trance had - stuff that the Trance had smothered felt choppy on the 5 - and I didn't have the confidence on bigger drops etc that the Trance was giving me.

Horses for courses, I realise, and maybe I'm too much of a hack to feel the subtle benefits of a boutique bike, but now I've got an extra $3k in my pocket to spend on track days!

To get into the spirit of this thread:
I'm hoping to have the 504 back from the spray painters this week so it can take me to the Otway Odyssey. All the rust has been fixed and a full respray will have it looking mighty smick!! :)

My 505 has been "borrowed" by my partner's little brother, who got his Ps last week. Not sure if i will see it again...

Keen to see pics of the 504 done though. If i see my car again it is set to be painted, but i can't decide what colour.
