Check out the Weight Weenies forum. Sette makes a very light stem for not much money, and a lot of folks over there have been trying them out. You might get some more feedback there. I have a couple of their stems on two of my mtbikes, but haven't ridden them long enough to uncover any problems if there were any.

My first heart rate monitor was their $45 unit and I loved it. You get 25 functions as well as a bike mount, pretty good deal IMO.

I own a Sette Carbon fiber seatpost and Aluminum seatpost. Their products seem to be high quality at a reasonable price.

I have their $9, 160g flat bar. No need to pay any more.
Another decent "house brand" is Pazazz (either Pricepoint or Jensonusa - I can't recall).

I have used the Sette Stem and Pazzaz seatpost and both are excellent quality for the money. Lightweight, stiff and inexpensive, you can't beat the combo. If you spend more (Thomson) you will get prettier and potentially higher quality parts (I have thomson stuff on my Turner) but on a budget focus your funds elsewhere.

saw it at pricepoint.com stem and hadlebar combo for $36.88 which i think is a very good deal to me .. trying to upgrade my 03 enduro expert. so i guess this is not a bad deal after all.

Pazzaz isn't a house brand. They're widely distributed in canada and tons of different LBS's have them.
