I guess Viagra helpful in high altitude or highly air poluted races? It caught my attention because of all the fires we have had here in CA. Some weather reports even say "Smokey and 78 Deg"

And I though that pro racer was carrying and extra water bottle in his bike shorts when I saw him cross the finish line last month.

There was also a study done about the affects of night before sex on athletic performance by elite athletes. The purpose of the study was to see whether world class runners (mainly sprinters) should abstain before big races such as the Olympics. Conventional wisdom suggested abstinence was best before athletic competitions and many coaches required their athletes to abstain. (Vince Lombardi is one of them, telling his football players to abstain from something like Wednesday through Sunday).

The results?

Sex the night before didn't hamper results at all, and might have even helped slightly. (Although I think the "improvement" was not quite statistically significant so they could actually conclude that it helped).
