Trails are safe (for now)

The fire is up north of town in wilderness area that is closed to bikes. But this is some prime backcountry for hiking. And the fire has now burned into Oak Creek Canyon which is one of the most scenic spots around. Most of the biking trails are south of town, so shouldn't be impacted by this fire unless it does a u-turn.

I'm up in Flagstaff and while we've avoided the big one for now, access to the national forest is being closed on Friday. All trails, campgrounds, parks - closed.

Needless to say, I'm playing hooky tomorrow afternoon for one last ride...

We're all praying for an early and wet monsoon season (usually starts in early/mid July).

Yeah, such a shame. I'm down in Tucson, and we're expecting a bad season here too. Hopefully, Mt. Lemon doesn't follow suit. It has been sooo dry. I was up in Flag about a week and a half ago (what great riding!!!!) and it was really dusty.

I too am praying for the monsoon to begin.
