Hi all

Picked up an MB3 today and I'm trying to figure out what size seatpost it should have. The post it came with is a 26.2 which feels very loose. I tried a 26.8 which was too big (I didn't try hammering on it). The info I found online indicates it should be a 27.0???

I believe the MB3 is a 92 model. Serial number is M2BL 19849.

I found some info about how to decipher the serial numbers but it didn't make any sense. It said the first letter would be the month? Unless there are 13 months that won't work...

Any info on what year this bike is and what size seatpost I need to look for would be greatly appreciated!

not much help here...my 94 MB1 is 27.2, my 87 MB2 is 26.8, my early 90's? MB3 is 26.4 and my early 90's MB4 is 27.0...

The '92 catalog says that's a 26.2mm post. Maybe your post is a little under-sized.

Got this all cleaned up and pieced together from parts I robbed from an old Performance Tangent. Only thing left is rebuilding the fork. Anyone know where rebuild kits can be purchased? Only place I found was this: https://www.things-for-sale-online.com/index.html?sport.html and it look kind of hokey...
