I have a seat collar that I want to braze in to a seat tube. I was thinking a coil of brass and sweat it through the joint. I know silver would be better/easier but I am concerned about a later process when I braze the top tube and seat stays to the seat tube near by. I worry that the silver will leave the area. Any thoughts on what I should do? Anyone with experience with this?

Both will work fine. Things will re-melt some when you go to join the toptube and stays, but the joint isn't going to move around or come apart (if you don't believe me, try getting a tube out of a lug sometime...).

If your fit is pretty tight, you might have a hard time getting the brass to actually flow through. But I bet it will work fine.
