Hello,
I have been going back and forth between the Scout and Sentinel. Think I have decided to go with the Scout since I do really like the feel of 27.5. My current bike is a 2018 Kona process 153 CR and it's got 160 front and 150 rear which I feel is just about perfect for my riding. I am very clear on the pros/cons of 27.5" vs 29" so don't want this to turn into that thread lol.

So the question is: Does anyone have experience running 160 fork and 150 shock on the Scout? I am curious how much it would change the ride, and what effects it would have on Geo. Really hoping to hear from first hand experience on the set up.

Anyways thanks i'm advance.

I don't have the 160 fork, but do have the rear at 150 and had previously run it at 140. The rear at 150 didn't make any real difference to ride characteristics for me other than having more travel.

I know you want real world experience, but I have say that after having gone through a ton of different bikes in the last few years the difference between 150-160 fork travel feels really minimal to me. 150-170 is noticeable. I considered taking the fork on the Scout to 160, but decided it wasn't worth it. HTA is already slack enough at 64 and adding travel would also slacken the STA. I don't feel like I'm missing anything with a 150mm fork.

160/150 on the scout makes it feel like an enduro bike great through chunky stuff but still poppy. 140rear feels nicer when sprinting jumping and climbing. 150 rear coil feels a bit more sluggish in flatter areas. The fork feels good at 160 doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in handling

Great Thank you. I did notice that it's not much difference between 150/160 in the fork. Which is kind of the reason I want to lean on the more travel end of the two options. Appreciate your input.

Great thanks a lot, so you have spent some time on the 150/160 set up on a Scout?

Thanks

Yup it’s my only bike ride everything on it in the WA state area. I keep the fork at 160 and sometimes put my 62.5mm coil shock on for all out steep days but it can still handle gnarly stuff at 140
Oh ok so you just run it at 140/160 for the most part? Was thinking you had it at 150/160 but that's just with the coil.

Thanks
