Hi
I'm thinking of buying a Scott Scale 30 MEDIUM online. I am 6 ft, and inseam of 85cm. Is the frame too small? It says the Effective Top Tube length is 58cm. On my 56cm Cervelo Road bike, its 56.5cm. Any help would be great! Cheers!

You belong on a Large. Mountain bikes are sized 10-12cm smaller then a road bike.

At 5'10" I ride a 54cm road and medium Scott Scale. I am right on the border and can go either way. I have riden the larger 56cm frames and the large Scale...I prefer the medium...

In your case considering your inseam I think you'd find the medium a touch too small. You'd have a lot of seatpost too.

Hope this helps.

I just ordered myself a Scale 30 2009 in Large, I am 5'9" but have very long (think orangutan) arms. My old bike was a Giant MCM 17.5" it was just too small, the top-tube was about an inch too short. I have a bit of trouble finding bikes that are long enough but not too tall.
