Here's a link to free download of German Bike test. Thorough as usual.

Each of the two testers road for four days one, then the other bike. The identical wheels were identical and equipped with a Power tap rear hub is provided for power measurement. The a test track was the Transalp route from feet to Riva del Garda with 598 km and 19 685 m altitude. After each of the eight stages, the daily output was read on a computer and an additional riding impressions recorded and compared.

The29er needed 10 watts more on the climbs probably due to 1 kg heavier but overall time on the course was usually less due to being better downhill and over the flats.

Both riders said 29er was the winner.
