Hi I'm a XC racer and I'm a little taller than 6ft 2in and my inseam is around 35-36. My arms are pretty long too, but my torso is average. Would u recommend a XL or L for the Scale 29er carbon frame.

I have the same measurements and I have an XL RC. It fits great. No problems.

Forgive the offshoot question, but does anyone know if the Scale's small frame is a curved or straight top tube?

I'm 6' 2" with 35" inseam and running large. It has plenty of room for me.All my other bikes are about 1/4 to 1/2' shorter in ETT. I xc race with it but now use a more trail orientated setup[ short stem, wide bars at about seat height] since most of my bikes are slack angled trail or AM 26ers. I ignore KOP fit rule in preference to handling, but I'm still pretty close on std seat post.
It needs a shortish stem [ 100mm ish] to keep steering tight. If you prefer KOP, bars way below your saddle, hard core xc set up then you may need a XL at 6' 2"

I'm 182 cm and also went for large. Will see once it comes to my house. I had scale 26 in 2007 in medium and I was feeling cramped. It was too short to feel racey on uphills.

I am right at 6' with a 32" inseam and large fits me perfectly. My teammates at 6'2"ish both got XL's. BTW, I've ridden my RC over 20 hours now and love it more each time I ride.

I'd go for the XL, I'm 6' 3" and even if I were a tad shorter, I'd still go for the XL over the L.

From the responses, it seems as thought the frame sizes run a bit small. I'm 5'8" with a 30.5" inseam, I wonder if I would have decent standover on the medium frame.

My friend has a Scale 29er in a small and he and I are about your size. 5'-8" 30" inseam and I road his around, for me the small felt really cramped. I would definitely go with a medium. He is a beginner mountain biker so he got the small for the additional stand over height. He said the medium wasn't horrible, but felt more comfortable on the Small.

I'm getting on a medium frame scale 29er tomorrow to size it out. After talking to SCOTT, two LBS and mtbr, everything points to the medium being the way to go. The frame geometry make it seem like it should work too.

If it goes well, I'll have a new bike on order (Elite)

Medium fit beautifully, even standover was good.

Tried to order it, heard from SCOTT they're oversold and all of the bikes they plan to produce have been spoken for.

Really bummed.

Where are you GregoryMB? I'm pretty sure there are unsold Elites already at dealers. I know my dealer has some alu models on the floor, carbon is another story though.
