Hi there, just a question to SB owners, as the SB owners manual says in the chapter " Selecting Travel ":

A = Long Travel, B = Short Travel, so anyone has tried to put the shock in this configuration ? https://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c188/maxhc/?action=view&current=FOX.jpg

No, I did not tried to ride the bike with this configuration, but it seems to be more plush and to have more travel, any idea if it will affect the frame or shock ?? , oh yes, the geometry and the front derailleur will be affected ….

I think that mounting position is for the TALAS shock which is longer. The leverage is a bit more rising in rate as the TALAS is rather linear. Worst case scenario, the Float will become a bit hard to bottom out and your angles will be more slack making the bike more DH friendly.

This is pure theory on my part... I have a '04 which has different mounting holes at the front triangle.

I tried that for a while. I ran all possible combinations of mounting positions. I think you'll find after going through them that running it as Titus designed feels best in terms of geometry and handling. Somewhere I have screenshots from Linkage.exe comparing all of them.
