I'm having a new set of wheels built up. I'm going with:

Chris King 20mm ISO front (Navy)
Chris King heavy-duty rear axle, fun bolts and Aluminum drive shell (Navy)
Mavic XM819D Rims
Sapim Cx-Ray Spokes (Silver)
Alloy nipples (Silver)

This set is for my Titus MotoLite w/ Pike. I'm 180# and I want this to be an all-mountain wheelset capable of handling small jumps and drops up to 4'.

Thought and comments welcome - thanks!

I'm a great fan of CX-Rays having used them a few times. Yes they're a pile of money (relative to "normal" spokes) but then so are CK hubs and many other parts on my bike. After the first build they're a joy to work with as wind-up is easy to see and deal with.

I'm about your weight (and prolly a bit more) and I use alum nipples. But my drops are more like 4" than 4'.

Great spokes!

"I didn't believe that such light spokes as the CX-ray would be strong enough, to withstand the demands of World Cup downhill circuit courses. They have proven themselves again and again to be up to the job. I am happy to know I am riding on Sapim spokes."
