Is 9 degrees cold? That was the temp when we started. It was 11 degrees when we finished. Lycra FR, DustyDuke, and me. How do you like my winter wear?

BTW, this is the new trail called "Barrel Rolls" which is in Santa Clara, about 4 miles or so behind St. George. Dustyduke has been stepping it up, and is now a Jr. member of Team Sanchez. He's the team wrench. Once he has conquered the South Shore, he will become Partner.

YOu know it. Gotta match the mask to the speedo. Still trying to find an appropriate cape to finish the look.

The Commitment!!!!!!!!!!!

.......er, what I actually meant was you guys should be committed! :D

9 degrees? Holy shite that's cold. Nice job getting motivated to ride in those low temps fellas. Good pics to boot......very solid effort.

El C, I can't believe you guys let someone not buy a RFX? I saw D Wang is now in the fold, but you couldn't get Dusty on a Turner, eh......you guys must be slippin'. ;)

Wang has finally capitualated. The RFX will last him years to come. As for Dusty, well is over a decade younger than most of us, so his means got him the next best thing. He is coming off of a single speed, and hitting all the gnarly lines like a pro. I'll give him 3 months, and he'll be putting the rest of us to shame.

Hey El C, how do you like those Specialized Deflect Gloves for winter riding? do they really keep your hands/fingers warm? I’m looking for some good cold weather gloves and noticed my shop carries those.

thanks!

seirus makes a sweet fleece glove and its windproof. they seem to hold up to water better than expected, the pull string is easy to use with a gloved hand, theres plenty of room for a liner without it feelin like a bag, the palm is slip-free and theyre cheap. its pretty much all i use till things get below 0. i think these are the newer version of my 2 pair.

I've looked at those before, but they are too thick for my liking - I like the Specialized gloves because the palm is thin.

The Deflect are an excellent glove for 30 degree + weather. The other day, I could have used a heavier glove for sure. My pinkies were suffering. I mainly bought the Deflect for winter road rides, but they have now become my favorite for cold dirt riding as well. I just ordered myself a pair of these yesterday for the coldest days:

The Fox Antifreeze glove. I'll let you know how they are next week.
