Looking for a beginner hardtail trail bike, I ride where their are roots and would like to go all over to places with fun trails, with normal climbs and descents as well. Im looking to spend no more than around 1200$. I was looking at the Vitus Nucleus 27 VRS or the Marin San Quentin 1. Other recommendations are welcome. EDIT: another bike of consideration is the 2021 Polygon Xtrada 6

You'll get better rollover with a 29. No to 27.5.
Vitus Sentier VR 29. You need a good fork for rocks/roots. Marzocchi Z2 is the best in this price range and better than many other more expensive forks. Link. Worth the extra couple 100 but free ship no tax. 30mm rims means wide tires at lower pressure for comfort and better traction.
