Salida Memorial Day ride

Anyone around Salida want to ride tomorrow? I'm shooting to start late morning and knock out a few hours of good trail time. No plan yet, but am thinking of climbing Marshall and doing a bunch of Rainbow.

If I'd had some warning I might not have done what I did today. Rode from town up to the Colorado Trail, north all the way to BV. Was planning to ride back through Bassam Park and over Aspen Ridge, but I was too worked. So I rode home on the highway (damn you wind!).

70+ miles, 7,000 feet of climbing. I'm worked. Just waiting for the pizza to get here.

EDIT: More importantly, pics:

If the pizza gets you recovered it won't be a fast day, my legs are done in too. Did Kennebec and back (with add-on bonus loops) on the CO yesterday and everything at Phil's twice today. So, I'm just looking to add more trail time, not hammer.
Sweeet ride. That section between Frontier Ranch (do they still call it that) and Cottonwood... so good. Maybe need two pizzas.
Yep, Frontier Ranch

When I got to the beginning of that section I was feeling near death. I'd finished the demanding section to the south, and from there a guy has to climb a long section of pavement up to the ranch then the good long section of the jeep road that goes up Princeton.

I stopped to sit and eat a little oatmeal I'd brought. When I got up and started riding again, I hit the first steep climb and a fast-ish rider appeared behind me. I threw down to keep from making him stall on this 100 foot section of granny. At the top I let him by and stood there looking at the ground with little tweety birds circling my head. I felt like pure crap. But after I got going, the section of trail brought me out of it. It's so beautiful.

kjbike, sorry. I feel like I got beaten up by a group of harley riders with hoses full of sand. No riding for me today. I'm off until Wednesday. I'll ride one of those days. But today the couch has got me.
That's a rough climb from the Hot Springs... deceiving topography. The trail is way up there. I did that once.. That was plenty. After that I drove up to the stables. Not nearly as pizza-worthy.
