As long as your shifter is 8 speed it should be fine... the shifter determines how much the derailleur moves per shift

just a note, it sounds like it's a Rapid Rise rear derailleur (shifts work backwards from what you're probably used to). That being said, the Saint mounting system is amazing, and relatively bomb-proof. Just wanted to give you a heads-up, love the saint stuff personally but thought you should know about the RR aspect.

there is now a regular (high normal) version of the (2007) saint derailleur too.... so you can choose which you like best...
