Weather reports? Snow maybe? Rain? How much? I forget, does that course get muddy or is it decomposed granite mostly?

I know it rained a lot last year, but I missed that one.

rydbyk - if you are going to do the Sagebrush and it is wet/cold, take some advice - carry a trash bag or something to keep your core warm in case you get stuck or have a breakdown - there are some parts of the course that are pretty remote and if help is needed, or you are just not able to keep up a race pace, you can get hypothermic pretty easily. I was one of the founders of this race ages ago, and we had a few rather exciting weather events over the years. It is a great course, even if they have added a lot of pavement to the route, and some parts are decent DG, but there is some serious mud in a few places too. I'm glad to see the race is still going - looked like it had gone away not to return a couple of years back.

Snowing to beat the band in Julian right now. Looks like typical epic Slushbrush conditions! No one ever remembers the great weather races for long but throw in some epic conditions, and you have memories that last a lifetime.

I want to know if they even ran the race. Delayed the start?
WTF happened!
:D
They delayed the start by one hour and changed the course. The climbing/descending sections of the course were deemed too dangerous. Can't blame the promoters there, if someone got injured it would be very tough to get them out with all the snow on the ground. The new course was an all flat 4-5 mile lap set-up with 3 water crossings/lap and boat loads of mud, oh... and really cold once you were wet from the water crossings.

To the comment above on remembering bad weather races, this is true. However, I also remember last year and it was a lot more fun...for me anyways.
