Hello, I have heard various things about if you have too long of a front fork for your bike you may have a chance of tearing your head tube off. So, I just got a used bike(new to me) and the guy said he upgraded the fork to a Rock Shox Totem (180mm). The frame has a 1 1/8 head tube and has 160mm travel in the back. It's a Novara Method 2.0 frame( Rei.com brand)

So down to the point, I want to visit a bike park soon and was wondering if this is a safe setup or I should get a shorter travel fork- thanks

Presumably it looks like he rode it with that fork for quite a few miles from the wear.
20mm added is not usually a problem. And you will be learning the bike initially anyway.
Add a little extra sag to start if you want to.
