Saddle for me ?

Its not your typical "what saddle to buy question" !! There is a twist :D.

I have on my Spot a WTB Laser and I am more than happy with it. Very comfy and durable. There is one thing that hinders me though - it is too wide and it prevents me to slide back easily. Nothing wrong with the saddle..... I am a bit overweight  and my thighs get stuck !!!

I am therefore looking for a narrower saddle but equally confortable and I have narrowed my search to :

Fizik Nisene HP WingFlex or the SDG Slim Jim.

What saddles are you 'bigger' people using ? How easy is it to slip behind them and how comfortable are they ?

Your 'real world' advice will be much appreciated !!

I thunk you'll find the Fizik is a rounder profile than the WTB you prefer so the SDG sounds suitable.
wtb rocket, is a narrow version of the lazer, one of my favorites
Just to put you in the picture my thighs measure 60cm+ (24") ........each :eek::eek::eek:!!!!!!!!!). I like to think that there is a lot of muscle in there. :D:D

I had a similar problem. Same bike (not that it matters), same saddle. I was always getting caught behind it. I switched to a Terry Fly, Ti. It's a very comfortable, light, narrow saddle. I like it so much that I have one on each of 2 of my bikes.
Another vote for WTB Rocket, esp since you already like the general shape of the WTB line of saddles. Personally, I have occasionally strayed from this brand, but never for long!
I like the WTB Rocket as well. The Nisenes are nice too but the WTBs seem to work a bit better for me- maybe due to their unique design. I just wish they had even more dense padding that compressed less but that's a personal preference. I'm 185 lbs and 6 ft tall and I guess I don't have a well-padded butt so I like denser padding that holds its loft more effectively. I've tried many seats and for my mtn bikes, I like the WTB Rocket the best- so far.

I'm not sure how that narrow version of the Brooks would work. I have a Brooks B17 on the roadbike and love it. The stretched leather feels hard to the touch but I never get sore and I'm always comfortable.
Ditto. The Terry Fly Ti is the only saddle I'll ever buy again.
...another vote for the rocket. Your nethers already like the WTB design, you just need a little more space...
I put on the Spot the ex-saddle (*) of my road bike. It is propably a cheap version of the "Selle Italia Filante" and made me realise why I binned it - too unfomfortble !!! But it is quite narrow so I went out to experiment.

Puting aside the fact that it looks so strange on the Spot, it made it considerably easier for me to slip behind the saddle. It is 13cm wide whereas the laser is over 15cm.

So I am looking for a 13cm wide saddle which is as comfortable as possible. The Fizik and the SDG I can get easilly - not sure about the WTB though but the "Rocket" makes sense. Anyone have specific experience with these two saddles ? Good or bad ? What is the "Wing Flex" thingy that makes "thigh movements easier" ? Will it help me ?

(*) I put on the road bike a "Selle San Marco Regal". It is wide with minimal padding but it is very comfortable - highly recommended for big persons.
The Fizik "Wing Flex" system means that the side of the saddle flexes and moulds to your shape. It does seem to work as it took a couple of rides for it to start to feel comfortable. A pal made a comment the other day about how much my Gobi flexes whilst riding. I'm the best part of 13stone and I don't know if there's a weight limit...

Thanks !!

so would it mean that as I slide back, my thighs would flex the sides of the saddle making the move easier ? That would be great !!
