that died in the Pyramid Peak area Sunday. I was riding there Sunday morning, and it was as quiet as I've ever seen it. Only saw two motors during my hour and a half ride. It was miserably hot and humid, so I cut my ride short and headed back to my truck about the same time he did. Too bad, as he was just a 19 year old kid. But it's a reminder, it's easy to get turned around in the desert, especially when you're already overheated. I guess I take some chances riding solo out there, but I always take a ton of water, my gps, and a ham radio (equivalent of a cell phone).

very sad. i always bring more water than i need, summer or winter. a couple times i took in the last of the fluids just as the ride was ending. also, no long rides in the summer, i save those for the cool months. no point in tempting fate.
